rear leaf springs 55 f100

I asked a question a few weeks ago but I don't know if I made myself clearI am building old school 1955 f100 my rear spring bushings were worn out so I took rear springs (hangers and all ) off my frame My thought is to find later model ford and take a section of frame with brackets ,drill out rivets and bolt to my frame I know someone else has done this so I need pick-up year and model The junk yards here don't want to let you go look at trucks they just want to look it up on computer I believe ranger springs may work but I think they are shorter I need your help Thanks Mike

Why not just replace the worn bushings? The bushings and pins are all available through various parts houses. LMC Trucks, and Sacramento Vintage Ford, are both places that I have gotten these parts from in the past. The problem with buying stuff from the salvage yard is that they often need to have the same parts replaced as the ones you took off. If you still want to do a whole swap I'm sure someone will come along that knows which trucks are good donors.

You would be better off replacing every thing from a after market dealer such as MID FIFTIES. I had to replace all the stuff on my rear springs on my "53. Except the springs. It all comes in a "need everything" kit. Good luck.

There was a discussion thread on this topic last week do a search you should be able to find it. I used 94 Ranger springs/brackets on my 55 pics in my first gallery. Mike this is a pic of the front bracket of the Ranger.
