So I found a full set of seats from a 2005 quad cab for my 89 crew cab, all for $150. I posted in one of the other categories to see if anyone had done such a conversion and after 46 view, not even one response......
Do YOU guys see any reason this would not work? I'm ok with some drilling and such.
Next question, does anyone know what year newer years would have the same spline configuration in the steering column? Would be cool if I could also use a newer steering column.
In the gallery there is a nice, no extremely nice crew that has a supercab grafted on it.
It is a 77 model and has king ranch seats so it can be done. I know a lot of models work by just using your old tracks and they bolt uo to some newer seats, not sure on the 05 though.
You might have to do a little fab work to level the mounts but no reason the swap can't be done as long as the width of the seat isn't a problem.
No idea on the steering wheels. I'd probably check on the after market adapters and see what adapter fit what year truck. Adapter should tell you will fit years xx-xx, then you know
Just be sure to reinforce any mods you make. I moved my drivers seat back on it's tracks around 4 inchs as I am 6'4 and needed the extra leg room. The other day I was on one of my favorite hunting tracks and hit a pothole and the seat back colapsed. Made for a fun drive home that night.
