My new Ride.....Help me!

Ok, so I am the proud owner of a 2009 F-350 4x4 King Ranch Lariot with a 6.4 Powerstroke and the 5R110W tranny. Here are my questions that I can't seem to find the answers too.

1. It doesn't have the PTO option - How dificult would this be to swap trannys

2. On the frame near the rear doors, there are two OEM Connectors (one each side). There are two wires going into them, but they connect to nothing. Does anyone know what they go too?

3. Will installing a mile marker hydraulic winch system in void my warranty since it connects to the power steering?

Thanks, I am sure I will have other ?s later on.

P.S. - I am so excited about this new truck its rediculous.

waynepetty1980, welcome to FTE!

I don't think the transmission itself would be difficult, but I am not sure about the associated wiring and hardware involved. You might want to contact your dealer, it would seem logical that there would be some sort of kit for this.

I would guess wiring harness for running board lights. I am probably wrong, though.

I strongly recommend against this. The power steering system in your truck does double duty by also powering the hydroboost on the brakes. The pumps are adequate for those two tasks, but just adequate. Adding a hydraulic winch would be asking too much.

So I have decided that I am going to forgoe the PTO option and the mile marker winch for now, but I am going to be building a custom Front Bumper simular to one from FAB Fours and such.

What are you opinions on fabbing a hydraulic resevoir into the bumper and mounting an electric pump under the winch.

Nothing, I currently have an electric winch. It is a chicago 8000#. I don't think it will hold up. And since I am going to have a hydraulic hay bale spear, I can plumb it all to the same pump and resevoir, therefore saving a ton of money in having multiple set ups.
