So here goes. I have a 63 F100 with a 292 and a 4 speed. I have been kicking around the thougth of putting a t-5 behind it and talking with John Mummert he says I need a truck 3 speed bell housing. I have found an engine trany combo for sale but it is out of a 1959 Edsel Ranger car.
So my questions is, is a 3 speed truck bell housing the same as a car bell housing?
I am not aware to two separate bell housings for the manual transmissions. The car bell will not have provisions to mount the housing to the frame in the correct location or may not have it at all. ND can come up with specific bell numbers.
This is one of the reasons that truck automatics are hard to find as the bell is truck only and specific to the V8 or I6.
If you really need a truck 3 speed bell i am sure there are many here that can help with one. I used to throw them out in the scrap...
