04 FX4 F150 Electric prob..HELP!!!

Problem: radio said "phone". i pushed the mute button, nothing happened. radio does not work. I turn on the headlights, radio works.I turn the truck off, radio still says "Phone". battery went dead a day later. I put the key into the ignition, turn it on and i hear, what i assume,is the fuel pump.but everything else is dead. turn off the key and i still hear the same clicking noise. is this a relay???? if so,where do i start??? i do not have a schematic. I need real help. I can not afford to go to the dealer or anyone else. no job. thank you. R lynch

Sounds like a intermittent fault in a battery cell. These trucks do strange things when the battery starts to go bad.

Can you put a battery charger on it and then see how everthing is working? Besides a bad cell it can also be dirty or corroded battery connections, not just at the battery but also the other end of the cables. It also could be a relay that isn't releasing and draining the battery, when you turn off the power. I had that happen in an Explorer a few years back. Keep us posted.

First, thank you for your help. I exchanged the battery for a new one, it did not help. then i had it checked for codes,no codes. so now im wondering what the heck it could be. I do not have a wiring diagram, which would be helpful. any other idea's????

I would clean and tighten all your ground connections as suggested by oldguy. Quick, easy and cheap. Check relays before you throw anymore darts. Keep us posted.
