1875 F100

I found a 1975 F100 2wd 8' stepside owned by an old gentleman that has had it since new. It has a 300 6 with a 3 on the tree. The body is real solid and straight except for the hood and left inner fender are rusted away. I am planning on a restoration keeping it mainly original and driving it as much as possible. I have a few questions for all of you. 1. Is the 8' stepside rare? 2. Should the bed have a wood floor like the 6' does. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
