Clutch Pedal is soft, Doesnt return all the way

91 F-350 5.8 Concentric Slave....... Installed the new trans and a known good slave and master cylinder (tight budget). The clutch pedal won't return all the way up and the clutch is not throwing out all the way making it impossible to even safely move the truck. Does this sound like a faulty master? If so how does that quick disconnect fitting come apart, I can't seem to pry it open.

Have you already tried bleeding the system?

Can you pull the pedal to the full released position? Do you have any external leaks visible anywhere?

Did you try gravity bleeding the system? Hydraulic clutch systems can be a real pain to get bled out, sometimes it just takes a while to get all the air out.

You can also try opening the bleeder with the pedal all the way up, pressing the pedal down, closing the bleeder, then pull the pedal back up. I did this on my truck before doing the pump and hold method and the pedal feel is good.

You remove the cap and rubber cup from your clutch master cylinder and fill the master cylinder completely full with Dot 3 brake fluid if that is what your truck calls for and leave the cap off so as not to create a vacuum lock. Then crawl under the truck and open the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder. Wait until the fluid starts flowing out and watch that the master cylinder never runs dry. Let a good amount of fluid flow through, again watching so the master cylinder never runs dry, adding fluid as necessary. When you think it is bled good close the slave cylinder bleeder screw and hopefully you will have a good feeling clutch pedal. Top up the master cylinder to the proper level. If you have just a partial pedal so you can drive the truck, drive it a while and repeat the process if necessary.

This has always worked for me.
