Two 800' x 100' foot tents blew away, dragging themselves over the cars underneath.

There are news articles that say an 800 foot auction tent blew over in heavy weather and caused the damage.

That's what I thought at first-someone went mental & tore the place up. Turned out it was a major wind/hail/thunderstorm that took one of the huge auction tents up out of the ground, came crashing back down on the cars. From what it looks like, the poles did the most damage. Here's another link:
Russo and Steele auction remains closed

Yea, but what if this is deemed an act of God....I'm pretty sure most insurers don't pay out on that one. That would suck and suck bad...not only is your car irreversibly damaged, but your on your own as far as getting it back to original. Which brings up another observation-the car WON'T ever be original again after this-it'll always bear the stigma of being banged-up. Man, what s*it luck~

Some lawyer will make the argument the tents weren't properly secured, or the materials they were built of was faulty, or the auction company acted recklessly parking the cars under the tents. I'm sure by the time they're done it will be my fault because I've watched the auction on TV.

Act of god.... what if you don't believe in god? Does this mean your insurance company believes in god? What if the insurance company believes in god but the claims adjuster doesn't?

Even better question...can the judge, as an agent of the state, invoke God in a decision? Hmmmmm

I actually asked an insurance carrier for Act of God insurance. The look I got was priceless, but I was serious. Talk about a major loophole. But then, I get a kick out of the hurricanes/earthquakes/floods...etc.
(It was an act of God/God's Will, etc.) BUT thank God I survived...Hullo?

Sorry for the rant...but I can't find the reasoning in all this...
