Question manual fuel shut-off?

is there a way to rig the electric fuel shut-off that kills the old idis and pre-powerstrokes to an manual shut-off, like a cable operated set up or somethin?

i was just curious about it because i think it would be cool to run an engine completely void of electricity. that way, if by some happenstance, the alternator crapped out, and your batteries were dead, you could keep the truck runnin. (also slight paranoia of a nuclear holocaust in which all electronics would be fried from the electromagnetic pulse...) lol.

They will still run when there is not enough juice for headlights.
If that nuclear deal kills your battery you probably wont feel like driving anyway.

lol. the EMP only effects electronics, and travels MUCH further than the blast. also, it only takes about 14 days for the radiation of a nuke to dissipate to levels safe enough to go to the blast epicenter without any major side effects. on top of that, canned foods are still perfectly edible afterwords.

i sound WAY more paranoid than i actually am... lol.
