I'm with you on this one, unless the Saginaw bracket located the pump closer to the engine or a little higher on the block it don't make much sense.. Oh well, looks like he got it cured, and that is all that matters..
To the OP: Did you notice if the pump was closer to the engine, or possibly higher than the original? Just curious!!!!

Your going to need a
power steering pulley puller (rent from Autozone for $30) Yes I returned the old pump.. They didn't even notice it was different lol.
My total for the pump was $85.59 ($30 core charge)
I had to get the 79 F250 pressure hose #71079 for $15.99
1 quart of type F trans fluid for the pump $2.67
and I had to get a new gatorback belt $24.99
