Saginaw swap belt to long.

Well I got the cardone pump from advanced and got it all done and put the belt back on and its way to loose..

Anyone else have this problem with the swap? Everything is done right and I double checked everything.

Well got a smaller belt and it works great. The belt was $25. $10 less than my other gatorback so I was even happier.

This pump is amazing. Doesn't make a sound. I love it. I recommend everyone to do this swap.

I'm with you on this one, unless the Saginaw bracket located the pump closer to the engine or a little higher on the block it don't make much sense.. Oh well, looks like he got it cured, and that is all that matters..

To the OP: Did you notice if the pump was closer to the engine, or possibly higher than the original? Just curious!!!!

Yes the pump was a little higher causing the need for a new belt.

Your going to need a
power steering pulley puller (rent from Autozone for $30) Yes I returned the old pump.. They didn't even notice it was different lol.

My total for the pump was $85.59 ($30 core charge)
I had to get the 79 F250 pressure hose #71079 for $15.99
1 quart of type F trans fluid for the pump $2.67
and I had to get a new gatorback belt $24.99
