i have a check engine light on and want to auto zone to get it checked. it come up with insuffecient egr flow. what do i do to fix this problem and would it cause it to miss under a load

What was the exact error code? Your '96 most likely uses the DPFE style EGR sensor instead of the earlier version EVP. The DPFE sensor is more prone to giving false indication of an issue when there really isn't one. It would help to know the DTC number before making too many guesses of what might be going on

Not to jack the thread but I have the same hesitation under load problem and am getting a p0401 code. Kinda funny because it only does it when you first touch the throttle. All you have to do to get around it is just press the throttle a little bit more. It even does it in park if you rev is slowly and get to about 2000-2500 and it starts to rev up and down. Is this the dpfe sensor also? Thanks. 96 C-150 351w a40d.
