No More Mercon XP !!??
Sorry...title should say SP
No More Mercon SP !!??
<HR style="COLOR: #ffffff" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Went to dealer for SP. They said no longer porduced and replaced by Mercon LV.
Does this sound correct to anyone here that knows for certain about this?
Good news. LV was only 5.19 per qt.
Thanks

It's correct. SP has been replaced with LV.

The LV is also synthetic, and it smells much better then SP.

The only problem is that the LV cannot be used in the transfer case. Ford has a pricey ($11.00 a quart) product for the case.

Yes.....I have concluded that LV is definitely the best. I spoke with 2 (different dealer) Ford Service reps today that confirmed this.

I am using Mercon ATF in the transfer case, thats what the owners manual calls for. About $3 a quart at Walmart.

Oh, i don't know, blockmanjohn had kind of already brought it up in his post. Maybe it is a minor detour off your main thread topic, but still not totally out in left field.
