Replace the belt with a goodyear gatorback.

You might also want to make sure that it's not your tensioner that's squeeking.

Replace your belt with a chain and gear pulleys!!!!!!!! LOL HA HA HA

Seriously, you need to find a belt and pulley setup, that will not allow any belt slip. I dont know if anything like that exsists. Oh wait a minute, those big custom motorcycles with the "fat" belts, those belts dont whine in the rain. So there might be some info there.Good Luck Big-old-460.

it should help keep the belt from slipping, which is probably what's causing the squeak

for a few bucks it's worth a try .. no?

you could try spraying it down with wd40 before you get into the water. i have no idea if it would work, iv never tried it. But it might help keep the belt from getting saturated and the pulleys from holding water on them.

But then again it could make it worse, idk. I might be worth a shot though.

I am not sure that it is even worth a shot because WD-40 is naturally a lubricant even though it can help with water displacement (WD). My experience is that belts do not like any kind of lubricant, that's why the belt is slipping when it gets wet, water is acting as a lubricant. The thing is, if WD-40 is introduced I dont think he would be able to remove it and therefore have no choice but to install a new belt to stop it from slipping. I had to replace my belt just because my water pump weeped 50/50 coolant mix on it. I tried scrubbing clean, belt dressing(several applications), even tried roughing up belt contact surface with a steel brush. Nothing worked. I had to replace a belt that had only 20,000mi on it. I would try WD-40 only as a last resort,IMO.

Don't use WD40 or any other sort of lubricant. It will ruin the belt and slip like crazy. The best you're going to do is to simply put up with it.

I used belt conditioner before and it was a mess. Covered the pulleys with scum and I had to take the belt off and scrape all the pulleys.
