Sorry for the long post. I have read the information on the site for spraying the WD 40 and such to resolve the issue but don't think it will work for my issue. Last winter, while in South Florida I came out to the truck to find the drivers side door lock inside the door. I immediatly thought someone had tried to break into the truck but saw nothing missing and no other damage. Tore everything apart and found a small part broken preventing the key to operate the lock. The electric lock still worked so I put everything back together and just used the Passenger side door if the key fob button didn't work (happens fairly often, not sure why). While at home (Iowa) my door ajar light started coming on and staying on. Stopped at the local Dealer and they diagnosed the switch in the door. Did my own install ( what a pain in the ...) and everything was fine till arriving in Florida a few days ago. Did the spray but nothing and have decided I may have cracked the holder for the sensor removing the old one. (from reading the forum). Any one know of a shop that might do the repair near West Palm. Don't want to use a dealer, don't have much luck with them in the larger cities. Will want to have the latch or lock replaced so the key will work again too. Will be putting the truck up for sale in a few months so want it to work for the new owner. Thanks in advance.
