Walker BTM (Big Truck Muffler)

I was wondering if anyone here has tried one of these? I want to dump the cat and crap stock muffler for something less restrictive. However, I don't have the ching to go with a full 4 inch exhaust. I can pick up a 3.5" cat delete pipe and a 3.5" Walker BTM (Big Truck Muffler) for around $120. Right now the truck is stock, and I don't intend to do anything extreme for HP. Will the opened up 3.5" exhaust be of any benefit?

Absolutely, the best thing anyone can do to a 6.0 is get rid of the stock muffler... either completely or with a straight pipe designed replacement muffler (there are many to choose from). I've got an Aero and it was the best thing I ever did to my truck- Besides hooking my boat up to it

but it's proven to lower egt's over 200 degrees....

Thanks for the input guys!

Jdadamsjr, the truck sounds great! That's what I'm looking to install mine on is a 2005 Excursion.

Going up 2, unfortunately I have an Excursion, which usually puts a 4" turbo back in the $450 range for me.

Utahtom, how did the Aero muffler fit up compared to stock? The Walker muffler requires some cutting and hacking because it's 37" long. The Aero says it's only 20". How long is the stock piece?

Thanks..we like it
fyi - where I had it installed (Pedro's propane, muffler, and PC Shop )

they just cut the stock muffler out, held the BTM up and trimmed tailpipes to fit
I asked them to make it flow as smooth as possible... granted, a mandrel bend turbo back will flow better, but had other things to spend my money on at the time ! taxes, and more taxes but HAD to do something to exhaust out the sct tuned gases )

on the instructions it says to do this and that to flip over this, etc....
but not necessary on my 05 Ex...

can post a pic of it if u want....
