IP maybe problematic

so today i was driving my aunt around and on our way home the ol girl was just acting like s h i t! i recently re-installed the original ip because of some other problems i was havin and when i had originally had the motor in with the original ip it would act as if it had a rev limiter on it stuck at about 25-28 rpm and would just sputter. fixed that problem with my other ip. put it on ran great. took it off because i thought i was going. When i put the original back on i put it back on with the fuel turned up a little farther than i had expected but its okay teaches foot control < LOL LMFAO FOR THE IDIOT BEHIND ME WHEN THEY DECIDED TO TAILGATE ME > but now as i was sayin when we were on our way back to her house as we were driving down the road it was doin it sputter deal again and was acting like it was suckin some major air. Also was acting like it was running outta fuel, like wouldnt pick a good spot to run if you ever "feather" a standard and it jumps cause you wanna shake the people inside if you know what i mean is what it was doing. and all i did to make it stop was push the clutch in. So i want your guy's opinion you think it could be the IP or you think it would be the lift pump and i dam well know i have NO air intrusion anywhere checked that when i got the truck because of what it was used for so could it be anything else?>

crack all of the fuel lines at the injectors and see if you have fuel.

disconnect hard line between filter and lift pump and see if its pumping.

This will tell you which one is the issue

Check your fuel supply, if its good. Your ip is shot. Currently replacing mine for the same reason.

the fact that a different IP didn't have the problem, and putting this one back on, well that proves that you have a bad IP you're playing with. i suspect your lift pump is fine

Yea lift pump is fine I was just irritated about it because guy who I bought the motor from told me he had the ip rebuilt about 30k ago and it acts like that so it just makes me mad so yea but I put my pump back on it instead of the "rebuilt" pump and it runs and works fine no smoke no problems

either the PO lied to you, or the rebuilder didn't do a good job. both seem to be common these days.
personally, i've pulled 2 spare IPs from the local junkyard for dirty cheap, and am just sitting on them waiting for the day i might need them, either to send one to a rebuilder, or to gamble on dropping it in hoping its good, it all depends on how the budget is when that time comes. until then, i'm happy to store extra parts
