I have a 2009 F250 with the 5.4L and was wondering what would be the best programmer to use? I was told the banks E3 gas downloader was the best and wanted to see what you guys think.
Like the factory tune, the tunes you get from BD or Banks are still compromises. Yes, they make more power, but like purchasing a suit off of the rack, do they really fit you? Is the extra power where you want it to be? Sure, an extra surge of horsepower is great, but where is that power coming in? Any generic tune is a compromise, where the tuner is trying to please as many people as possible. Maybe you want more torque in lower RPMs than the average guy, maybe you want it all at 4500 RPM. Maybe you don't want all the power, but would love an extra 3 MPG.
Like JKBrad said, get a custom tune for your truck. That way your tune will fit how you drive, what fuel you use, any mods you've made and what you really want your truck to do.

Hi superduty84
Welcome to FTE Thanks for posting
We can help out with your trucks tuning calibration. The SD 5.4L factory programming has a few faults in the Drive by wire system that once remapped can make truck much more responsive. There are also many timer delays in fueling that can improved upon as well. Give us an call/email if you have more questions will be happy to help.
