Personally..........I'd find a 12 valve............no electronics............no BS. Would be much easier to swap........just my 2 cents worth.

Here's my honest opinion. Do the 460. And if you absolutely just HAVE to swap in the Cummins, at least do the 5.9 "Kid Cummins." From what I've read on the internet, the 6.7's aren't **** compared to the new Powerstrokes or Duramax diesels.

Personally, I'm completely against Cummin's diesels in pickup trucks. Every time I see a pick up with a Cummins, I see a Honda Civic with a bed. It's the biggest bandwagons since 4cyl cars.

The "real" Cummin's (one's you'd find in something like a Peterbilt) are great motors. I have all the respect in the world for them, but I tend to go against the grain so that's why I'm an Anti-5.9/6.7 advocate. That and I straight out hate Mopar. The trucks themselves are garbage.

My 2 cents are towards that 460.

Do the 6.7, doesn't hurt to do something different and then you have probably the only 70's ford with a 6.7

for a price, you are looking at probably 4-6k just for the drive train on something that new with that low of miles.

i honestly had no clue the cummins swap was as popular as it was when i started mine.

I am not sure if it actually is that common. I think its a little like "spending the night" with twins....everybody wants to, but only a small percentage of those at the nightclub actually "finish the project."

if you have to do a cummins do the 5.9. 6.7 has to many electrical comp. to work on.

i would stick with the 460

Why is he parting out the 08? Check the wheelbase, maybe you could buy the whole truck and just swap your body onto it.

F the 460! Cummins is the way to go for sure! There is a reason they are the "cool" swap - because THEY ARE WORTH IT!!!!

6.7's aren't bad from what I have read. All of the wiring for the commonrail's is right there. The computer mounts to the side of the block. It's all been done and documented before...

I'm with Chase. I don't think the wiring would be bad at all. Plus it's not going into a truck that has to be plugged in to pass inspection.

So you could have a shop or professional tuner eliminate a lot of the stuff in the computer (dpf, egr, bla bla)
