Replacing factory subwoofer

Could you gut the sub out of the factory subwoofer box and replace with a aftermarket sub and external amp? How do you think it would sound?

Subwoofer

I would sell the sub and amp, it is coming out of a 2008 F250 crewcab. Realize this is the factory subwoofer it came with not aftermarket. Just FYI
