Mr. Gryglak, tell about the oil dip stick, is it like the 6.0s and 6.4s or is it like the 7.3s? I like to be able to tell how much oil is actually in my $15,000 engine. It will make a difference on if I will purchase one or not. Simple, bullet proof design characteristics like that is what is needed even on the most modern technology.

i have a easy one about the DEF system
i would like to know if the DEF system will have drain hole?
Will system need cleaned ever, time frame?
Is there a time frame, in which the liquid is only good for, before it needs drained? Lets say i fill it up and it takes me over 2 years to drive 7500 miles.
Or do i only put in couple gallons at a time?

Like so many here at the FTE I am a repeat Ford owner as shown in my avatar. For the most part I have been happy with the vehicles. I bot the second Excursion because I read that Excursions were going to be extinct. That 6.0 was... Enough said. I traded out of it on a F-350. The F-350 was unique, but nothing like the first 6.0. When the 6.4's were out for about six months I found the exact color I wanted and bot the 2008. Simultaneously the diesel fuel price went thru the roof and my mpg went to 9.
Monday morning I have an appointment to take the 2008 in for a new radiator. Pressure tested appears to have three leaks. All recall work, venturi and reprogram completed as instructed. 20,000 miles on the clock.
Here is my commnet: I have been loyal to Ford over the last ten years. At times I felt like several dealerships didn't want my business and often I heard, drop off your truck and we will look at it maybe next week, we are busy.
My question: I plan on buying a new truck in the spring. WHY SHOULD I BUY A FORD WITH THE NEW 6.7 SCORPION DIESEL?

If you boys don't cut him some slack he'll never stick his head into this lions den...
As was said he will be here to answer questions on the new 2011 6.7 SD not your current problem.
Let's be thankful that somebody with direct knowledge will be able to give us some insight into the new truck and then we can all decide if we want to shell out our hard earned money or not.

I bot and paid for four (4) new Fords in the last ten years. I was planning on purchasing a new 2011 with the 6.7 Diesel engine.
Slack, slack is when the radiator is not part of the engine. I got no slack. Ten pages of the 60,000 mile and 100,000 mile engine warranty, and guess what? The radiator is 3yr./36,000 mile.
I got no slack. If I keep typing, I will say something disrespectful. Up to this point I have not. This latest information concerns me deeply.

Mr Gryglak, I am one of those that has 'normal' 2.5% fuel dilution in my oil. WHY no 9th. injector post turbo as GM is going to do?
Since the DPF needs the heat generated from the DOC by injecting diesel fuel during the exhaust stroke it would be much better to do same in the exhaust pipe vs. the exhaust stroke of the engine. I could live with that; frankly if the Scorpion had the 9th injector I would be ready to order.....
Was a 9th injector considered? and if so, why not?
Thanks,
Bob
