This is a quote I got, my truck is in mint condition and I would like to keep it for a long time, I know this would wake it up a little, but is it worth it, would this make the truck more reliable? Keep in mind this is in Canada and we pay more for everything! This quote is from Walls costom rod, so from what I have been hearing this shop is the best at doing this in my neck of the woods

So the total is $9200.00

It sounds way too pricey to me and the 6.0 doesn't have a DPF so Im not sure what issue there is to be resolved there, unless this list is for a 6.4 or 6.7L diesel. Also I wouldn't want anything but OEM head gaskets in there.

Well there is almost $1000 in tax included that price, so at $8200 it is probably a little high. But looking at what they want to do they must have some experience with 6.0's, so I would say it is better to take it to somebody with experience than somebody that is cheaper with no experience. Also I think I would want OEM head gaskets.

Tuning $980? Me thinks you can get that for half that much. And you get to keep the SCT tuner. They don't mention that in the $980.

Studs are about $200 more than I paid for mine. Check Ebay.

Thanks for all the resoonses, I'm torn on what to do, remember we get raped up here for most things, for example my Suzuki king quad was $11000 up here, I paid 6200 bucks in Minnesota, saved big on my snowmobile down their as well!

Those prices look pretty outrageous to me. Why did they even mention DPF in their tuning description if they know so much about what they're doing?

I'd keep looking if I were you. Might be worth a road trip if the truck isn't broken down.

There are diesel shops in the USA that could do that work for less.

"Custom 150 HP tune with Fuel economy"

waiter, check please.......
that, and the head gaskets give me pause.
truth is, it clogs my bull**** filter.

$9,200 to fix something that isn't broke?

settle down, open a beer, close the wallet, and read
a bit here. there are some smart folks here, and they
have enough information to boggle your mind for a while.

if this ride is pristine, and no problems........

change out the studs, change out the alternator for a dc power,
get a tune from matt for $500 or whatever he charges, and
JUST DRIVE IT, with a scanguage to watch the numbers.

under $2k, and you'll love the way it works.

most of the folks on here will echo the same advice, over and
over again. listen to it. not naming names, but if m-chan, cheezit,
or bismic suggest it.... just do it.

Where in Canada are you? Some of those prices are way out of line, even for up here. PM me. DO not even think of using anything other than OEM head gaskets unless you want to tear it down it all over again.

Like the other people said, hold off and do some more looking around. Can you give us a few more details about your truck? Is there something wrong with it?
