New truck...'79 F100 flareside!

Hey everyone, this is my first post here. I picked up this beauty on Saturday, it was a 2 owner truck before me, the original owner had it from '79-2002, and you really can tell! I haven't gotten a chance to play with it much seeing as it went straight to the shop for a tune up, in hopes of getting it to my dads house this weekend. This is my my first Ford truck, so I'm pretty excited to dig into it, i'm sure I'll have lot's of questions!

302 Windsor
4 speed manual Overdrive

Real nice looking truck! Welcome to FTE, you will love that truck, and you are lucky it didn't go through to many hands for it to be all beat, hacked and rattle canned to death. However, it does look like it could use a GOOD wash and wax!

Tell us little more about it, and do you got any engine, or interior pictures??
Truck **** is highly enjoyed around here!!

Thanks guys, hopefully I can get some more pics up soon. Unfortunately I have to keep it at my dads place which is about a few hours and a ferry ride away. The interior is bone stock, and CLEAN. The only upgrade I noticed was a nice Hurst shifter, and some upgraded speakers. I was also lucky enough to receive a nice stack of paper work for literally all of the maintenance from both owners, with hundreds of oil change stickers matuculously stuck to sheets of paper, the original manual, sales papers, and an extra VIN tag!

The dealership the original owner bought it from is about 15 minutes from my house, so I plan on driving it over there and sharing some of the old Dealer goodies with them. Oh, did I mention I got the truck for free? I guess I do believe in good Karma now...

An old friend of mine's step father recently passed away, and the '79 was his baby. Neither my friend or his mom were comfortable selling it, all they wanted was to give it someone who would love it as much as he did, so I snapped it up.

The body is in great shape, I'd love to put some paint on her, rebuild the 302, new wiring and maybe some new rims (although the ones on now are pretty sharp ). I'd hate to stray too far from it's bone stock charm though, but you know how that goes...

Welcome to FTE

The "Turbine" style wheels are not original, they're aftermarket.

Where does the OP say anything about these wheels being aftermarket?

This is all he mentioned:

If I hadn't mentioned the aftermarket wheels, some people might think they are genuine Ford.

In the line you quoted I was referring to the interior. Sorry, I should have made myself a little more clear. I guess I assumed the wheels were obviously aftermarket, with the knock-off spinners and all.
