I see the light...

I was under the dash planning out my DP-Tuner switch installation and noticed I could see light around the steering column with the hood open, right where it goes through the firewall. It's kind of noisy in the cab underway and I'm sure this isn't helping any. Is this common and are there any decent fixes for it?

I think I remember reading somewhere about someone gluing a foam can cooler there but not sure it was here.

What do you mean steering column? The actual shaft that goes through the firewall? Where did you run the stuff for your gauges? The more common place to see daylight would be through the knock out plug above and to the left of the steering wheel.

How big is the gap? Is it right next to the shaft, or out in the seal?

Yeah, it's right next to the actual steering shaft, maybe about two grains of rice, end to end in size. I haven't run any guage wires yet so there aren't any other penetrations I can see.
