Sounds like you need to grease the slip joint in the driveline. I'm sure Rick will fix that link. Make sure to choke the tires as it will roll when disconnected.

had this same problem you described on chev p/u and it ended up being the rear brakes sticking, I replaced the slide pins and the pads and that took card of it.
There is also the possibility that it could be in the rear end but in my experience it would be really noticable going from reverse to drive and vice versa.

What he said. Start with the easy fixes first. Chock your wheels to keep it from rolling, remove the boot and grease up the slip joint. Pretty common. If that doesn't fix it then start looking at your brakes, remaining drive line, diffs.

Slip joint is the issue. Take it from Pete and I and probably others on here to. Chock your tires. Your truck will roll on you. Not fun, just ask Pete.

Simple fix that costs what ever the cost of a thing of grease. Mine was like $2.00 and half an hour of my time.

Well, that's a broad question. You other was answered, but this will get you lot's of different opinions. I change mine every 7K, but I am using Syn. oil and Blackstone says I can go more, but 7K is good for me. When using dyno oil, I would change it every 4-5k. Some running extra filtration systems are going 10k or more on an oil change.

I change my oil and filter every 5-7k miles and use Rotella synthetic oil.
