Welp, Hello there, obviousley i'm a new guy, but I have a chance to get something that I like, and I need some help deciding lol
Welp, I'm in a dilemma rigth now...
I have the chance to buy a 1989 Ford F-150, 5.0 5-speed.
It has a 2-3" body lift, 35" Wild Country RVT tires.
Its my uncles, he wants $800 for it, and I also get new rust-free doors, the tool box in the back, and maybe some other things.
The bad part: I have to replace the drivers cab corner (about 6"x5" hole), patch the passengers corners, replace a big hole by the bottom-front of the passengers door sill, patch a 1"x6" of the floor, get a new front bumper, the interior is a little nasty....And I would be giving up $800
another thing to consider is how much it will cost you to fix....i say you do a little better haggeling......i mean hell, he's family!
Yea, it needs new ball joints, and a bumper, then other little misc. stuff...
Yea thats what i told him !!! lol, but first he wanted $900, but im goin to try and get him down some more. He's the type when he smells money, he becomes an animal lol

Yea, I can see myself now, wearin a camo hat, sleevless shirt, and spittin out the window.
lol well $800 isnt a whole lot of money but then again it is.... if that makes sence lol
if nothing else u will have a good truck to play in the mud uhm... the hood and fenders if u are replacing them i would go with fiberglass... u can get fiber glass bed sides too but i have only seen them in the prerunner fashion....
for bumper i would go aftermarket or 6" O.D. pipe with 1/4" walls lol
frame cant be that bad if it has the body lift and the cab and bed arent touching.... but a grinder and some 1/4" flat stock will take care of any bad places
Thanks again for the responses, you guys are making me want this more and more lol

i think it will be worth it
Oh beleive me, its alot of money to me, but i am also a extremely cheap teenager Lol.
I'm guessing that the fiberglass panels arent cheap though lol.
And yes, a custom bumper would be in the future lol.

Nope, the frame is spotless, it used to have an extremely bad oil pan leak, so the whole uderside of the truck is covered in a nice oil goo, so it will never rust lol
And no, it was never ran out of oil, the other guy who owned it before my uncle just put in a quart each day. And that kept it full.
The only real question here is why haven't you posted that it is now yours?
If you don't hurry and get with it, one of us will come buy it out from under you this weekend for more.
For my taste, as long as it keeps getting you where you need to go, then rust is no different than gray hair, it's just a sign that there are teenagers in your life...........
