1993 F 150 5.0 auto 4x4 runs rough
this thing has had this problem for a while, has been sitting for two years. I thought it was a transmission solenoid, because its throwing code 621 only. but it seems to run rough and stall even in park, and is short on power in drive and reverse. put fresh gas in it and started right up, ran like a top, then chugged and stalled in park, put more gas in it, ran good then chugged and stalled in park. it has newer plugs and wires, could this be an o2 sensor?

No the EGR won't cause that kind of problem, if it's cold outside there will be a lot of visible water vapor in the exhaust until everything is really hot. If there are no sensors codes present you can pretty much eliminate all the EFI stuff as the source of your problem, it comes down to fuel and spark after that, hence the suggestion to check the fuel pressure.

ok, even tho I dont have a way to test fuel pressure yet, I decided to go out there and do it the old fashioned way by poking the fuel test port with a screw driver. the fuel gushes out fast. I found there is a lot of air in the fuel rail. every time I bleed the air out, it starts back up. runs for a minute or so and then stalls again. I have to keep adding a 1/2 gallon of gas every so often or it wont start at all regardless of how much I bleed it out. this is in the rear tank because the front fuel pump dosent work anymore. it seems like the fuel pump is sucking up air. there is probably 3 or 4 gallons in the tank because Ive added about 5 gallons this weekend already and its only ran about 20 minutes total.
