Transfer case problem

Here comes the clunk from down under and my truck slips back into 2wd; i let off the throttle for a sec then throttle again and its back in 4high just long enough to get out then clunk again. Today i replaced the shift motor and pulled the front driveshaft off for inspection. Everything looked good. Still clunking.
Did you find a solution to your problem? My 04 is doing the same thing.
