1996 f150 dual exhaust, no cats questions..

Hi on my 1996 F150 i just ordered dual exhaust pipes. and a mac muffler. single in dual outlit muffler . im gonna put that on this week. but i want to get rid of my cats. i like the bassani catless y pipe but its only listed for 87-95 f150's . If i put mil eliminator on the rear cat would i be able to run that mid pipe? thanks alot

I don't see why not! What are you using for the MIL eliminator exactly?

Yep that would work, but you should consider adding a cat anyway, one of the universal magnaflows will do it's job without affecting exhaust flow.

Yes that will work.

I've seen the cheap ones that are more like an end cap(meaning you remove the 02 sensor all together and plug this thing on the end where the 02 would go) not work at all. Total waste of money.

Because it will minimize polution and reduce in-cab droning noise.

I agree with Conaski - use a cat that doesn't interrupt flow and you'll enjoy the benefits of a fairly open exhaust yet not spew unburnt fuel into the atmosphere. You can then leave the second O2 sensor and have the engine run as designed, and very well to boot.

Listen to this man. I went with the setup he has after reading some of his older posts and I love it.

Can i eliminate the cats in my 2006 F 150 5.4. I was told by the dealership they are restricting exhaust and need to be replaced. Dealership wants 1000 plus a side. I can get them for 500 ( performance ) or less and install y self. I am looking into O2 simulators and eliminating all together. I live in a state where there are no emissions. Does anyone have any suggestions ? First Ford i have ever owned. Previous GMC guy, any help will be appreciated.
