I stopped the Truck at complete stop to DIS engage the low 4x4 and drive as 2wheel, the switch is at the 2wheel drive the dashboard light is indicating the “low range 4x4” can some please advise me of how DIS engage the low 4x4 ……..thanks. ps. My front wheels are in the locked position.

This happened to me once on my Expedition. It may sound sill but make sure that your switch is in 2WD and then take the ground off the battery for a few minutes and when you put it back on most everything should "reset" and maybe it'll actuate the the t-case shifter to go back to 2wd. It worked for my expedition....

Same thing is happening to my 2000 f250. I removed the electric motor from thetransfer case (3-10mm bolts) and using a 5/8"open wrench manually put the truck back in 2 wheel drive. I had a buddy of mine then move the selector switch thru all its positions and you will see the motor move to each position. Mine will only go from 2x to 4x high and will only move to 4x low intermittently. I think I will have to replace the 4x4 module.
About the front hubs, check the vacume connections on each wheel end. I removed both hose barbs and found them to be rusted closed went to Ace hardware an bought brass replacements. their is also a vacume seleniod behind the battery on left side that guys say get gummed up if there is a vacume leak at the hose barbs that I told you about. fordtech is right; getting out of low range 4 wheel drive can be difficult
even if all parts are working correctly. If you have the owner's manual
read the procedure, if not put your transmission in neutral, push brake
pedal and wait for 4x4 low light to go out. If light doesn't go out, creep
forward a couple of feet and try the above method again. Spoken with
experience on my '06 automatic 6.0.

I had the same problem with my 04 F350 and just yesturday fixed it. It was the brake light switch. It takes 2 min to replace and cost 10 bucks. Your brake lights will still work fine when the brake is applied but wont disengage the 4x4 in low. A bad switch can also cause you not to be able to get the truck out of Park when you fire the engine up. I would try to replace the switch.

Thanks for all your replies, I just fixed it, all I did was turn my head lights of, and play with the switch. just moved the switch between 2FWD 4x4 and 4x4 low, and I switched back to the 2Wdrive, thanks again
