I now have a pics of my truck in my garage. What do you guys think about its appearance? i havent done any cosmetic work other than fixing the dent in the front fender which is now black and i added the bumper
Sharp looking Slick; and I think the old 57-60 style bed looks sharp on your truck. I wouldn't consider it a wrong bed; yours isn't the first one I've seen, its was an option I beleive until 63 if I'm not mistaken.
Looks great...
Nice truck for sure.
How bad is the exhaust sound with the pipes exiting in front of the wheels like that? I like the look of the pipes exiting there, but don't really want an annoying loud exhaust right in my ear(must be getting old).
Sure would be easier to fab my own exhaust if I didn't have to go over the axle also.
Thanx for the input everybody.
Old Crow: As far as the exhaust is concerned, its not too loud but i think thats because its a dual with a muffler on either side without a crossover, but when i bought the truck the exhaust was cut off right after the mufflers so it exited right at the end of the cab so its much quieter now. I like the look and sound of the exhaust so i recommend it,
more pics are up. Completed the dash, new stereo system behind the bench seat, new bench seat, new rear bumper, new motor that has been rebuilt and detailed
Lookin good That step bumper doesnt look bad back there at all. It should do until something shiny comes along. Your truck overall is very complete and well done I like it.
Great job, can tell lot of work has been put into it, I like the color, stereo sys. caps; the entire slick, it's an eye catcher. <a href="http://s300.photobucket.com/albums/nn25/goatfarmer_photos/?action=view&current=drool51.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn25/goatfarmer_photos/drool51.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Not to be critical, I have had the exhaust coming out in front of rear wheel for past 40yrs. and finally got a quote to route to the rear, found the exhaust and road noise way too anoying. Perhaps if I had a nice sterio sys. as you do I could turn the volumn up, unfortunately with the stock a.m radio I am somewhat limited. Again, nice looking ride, congrates!!.
I ended up exiting my pipes at the exact same place, but I got some chrome tips that have a 45 degree angle and kinda aimed them toward the back and down. I love the sound and don't find it too loud in the cab at all.
Thanks for the input guys!! There isn't a picture of it up yet but the black spot on the fender finally got fixed. I'm hoping to get the driprail shaved over the summer along with getting the small amout of rust that's around it fixed. And I'm debating between getting that bench seat repaired and reupholstered or picking up a newer bench.
Just got back to Ventura this afternoon. Already have the seat and carpet pulled, planning on stripping the floors to bare metal and then coating them with POR 15 or something like that to keep them from rusting, there is some bad surface rust im just hoping its not worse than that. and tomorrow im also planning on running out to Saticoy Auto Body to get an estimate for getting the drip rails shaved and the running boards repaired/replaced
