So i am swapping out the original 4 speed tranny & T-case to a C-6/Dana 205 T case in a friends 66 F-100 4X4 Truck.
I understand you can re-use the original cross member and move it back bye grinding out the factory rivets, but after i remove the cross member, what are you guys doing to re-tie the stock brackets back in to re-strengthen the mounting brackets for the trailing arms that are mounted to the frame for the front end?
I guess i could remove the stock cross member to install the C-6 tranny and then re-bolt the cross member back in to re-tie the cross member back to the trailing arm brackets, but it looks like to me the stock cross member then would be in the way of the new C-6 tranny.
Thanks for any info
