C6 crossmember for a C6?

Does anyone make one?

I'm swapping a 352/F'oM for a 360/C6 combo into my boss's '66 2wd F250.

The crossmember is my next task to tackle, I haven't even seen what (if any) modification the current Xmember might need, I'm just asking in advance...

Thanks guys!

The truck would have come with a C-O-M, I am not sure the cross member is different, my C6 is attached to the 3spd cross member moved back that came in the truck. If you have to have one any cross to 79 will fit.

The same crossmember is used, but it has to be slid back and 2 new holes have to be drilled in the frame. Also, the transmission mount for the C-O-M and the C6 are the same. All in all, it's a pretty easy swap. I had a new 1 piece driveshaft made when I did my swap.

The last year for Ford-O-Matic was in 1961, and then was only used in F100's with 223 I-6's.

Everything else thru 1967 used Cruise-O-Matic (C-O-M). 1968/72: C6.

C5TZ6068A .. Rear Engine Mount (Rubber Insulator)

Hey Guys!!!!

So i am swapping out the original 4 speed tranny & T-case to a C-6/Dana 205 T case in a friends 66 F-100 4X4 Truck.

I understand you can re-use the original cross member and move it back bye grinding out the factory rivets, but after i remove the cross member, what are you guys doing to re-tie the stock brackets back in to re-strengthen the mounting brackets for the trailing arms that are mounted to the frame for the front end?

I guess i could remove the stock cross member to install the C-6 tranny and then re-bolt the cross member back in to re-tie the cross member back to the trailing arm brackets, but it looks like to me the stock cross member then would be in the way of the new C-6 tranny.

Thanks for any info

Rick
