CALLED ME KEUWAIT LAST WEEK AND EMAILED THE OTHER DAY THEY WERE MOVING INTO IRAQ. AS A VIET NAM VET MYSELF AND ONE OTHER SON IN THE AIR FORCE WHO RECENTLY RETURNED FROM IRAQ, I KNOW HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO THEM TO JUST GET A HELLO FROM HOME..SO HAVE A GREAT 2010 AND GOD SPEED..

3rd tour?!?!? Did he volunteer?

 

he joined the army right after 911. so yea, he volunteered i guess.

 

was under the impression that only one tour was mandatory, and the others were voluntary. maybe they do things differently now, I have not been in since 1981.

 

after 911 everything changed. the 3rd ID has actually been deployed three times already..so fourth trip for some. my son missed the last deployment as he had surgery. Hummer was hit by IED...twice in the same tour. give me an email and i can send you a couple pics if you like. thanks
