No guarantee my friend. I've heard two or three 300's that sounded like V8's. One had headers, or so he claimed. The other had efi manifolds, custom Y pipe, single 3'' piping into an unknown flowmaster.
I can't figure it out. Some sound good, some don't. That's why I've developed a rule of thumb for a decent sound. It's not the best but it's fool proof. Are you going to run converters? I believe you do?
It is a '75 with zero smog confines! No converters. I'm thinking about some inexpensive turbos from Summit. I want people to look when I drive by the sidewalk coffee drinkers, but I'd like to be able to talk in the cab when the windows are rolled up too.
You can make your truck as loud as you want (almost) and still be able to have a comfortable conversation in the cab. All you have to do is run full length tail pipes all the way out back.
Are those summit mufflers straight thru? Like glass packs?
Sorry gents cant post a sound bite of my exhaust system, I was to cheap to pay for a membership so it won't let me do attachments. Good news though I will pay soon but I just ordered my tranny and transfer case rebuild kits so I am watching my pennies my little girls birthday is in a few weeks it's her 5th and it's the only the second one I get to celebrate with here due to usually being deployed to Iraq so it's gonna be a blowout!!!
i know..lol but i had a ranger once with straight exhaust to a glass pack and man that thing was super loud..lol i got pulled over all the time for it being too loud...but actually it was under the decibel limit..he he. so they couldnt do anything
well I was just out working on my headache rack and exhaust and I finally got my turndown tacked on. should point the exhaust farther out and down from the truck now. still haven't scored a glasspack.
frankenstein77: good for you! Thank you for serving and Happy Birthday to your daughter.
Right now I am running a single 2.25 inch pipe with no cats or muffler, it's a true straight pipe.
thanks, I am proud to serve. I will definately be happy to don a barbie birthday hat and play pin the crown on the princess. Usually I'm donning a ballistic vest and helmet and playing pin the full metal jacket on the numb nut, which I may add is fun in it's own right.
