If you had 10 days to run around Alaska in January what would you do?

It really depends on how much snow there is and where you can park your truck.
I would definitely take snowshoes at the minimum and would take skis to if you have them. You might have to ski in along road then ski over to cabin but you might be better off with snowshoes to go from cabin to road. Hard call to make with out being up there. Take a avalanche shovel with you to if the snow is really deep you might need to dig open the door.
Good Luck
***Again I have not been there in 3 years ownership of cabin might have changed or other things.***

Trip was awesome! I am definitely in love with this state! It will be hard for me to ever leave.
I am sorry we missed each other Todd. Once I arrived and realized my cell was out of service, I figured it would be almost impossible to run into each other.
Snowmachining is amazing. We didn't know what we were doing but we figured it out and had a blast. Got stuck a ton and didn't really ever figure out how to control the machine at slow speeds in deep powder. I haven't sleept so good in my 25 years of living. Forks Roadhouse was a really fun place to hang out at as well.
We gave up on the Stampede trail hike once we realized we were not adequately prepared and ended up going down to Girdwood. My friend hadn't ever been to a ski resort so we crashed in the hostel and spent two days teaching him how to snowboard.
I think I have him convinced to move up here now. A couple of pics.
In order: Picking him up, ABC, Beerfest, Petersville, backcountry hike in Talkeetna, Girdwood!
