EGR runs from a temperature-switched ported vacuum source. In most cases, a vacuum line goes from a ported vacuum source on the carburetor. If you're using the stock carburetor, there should be a port near the driver side idle mixture screw. That hose runs to one of the ports on the ported vacuum switch near the thermostat. It doesn't matter which port. The other port of the switch runs to the EGR valve.
