Just another way of screwing the people. When this farce was first announced approx $123 million was to go into general fund. Now they are saying it will go into a "dedicated fund for road and bridge repair".

Just like the thruway tolls were going to pay it off and then it was going to be free

Now the State may be dropping the new plates. (If they can find money elsewhere). Before the plates had to be replaced because they were losing their reflectivity. A "safety" issue. Plus the new funds it would generate.

George, thanks for brining this back up and now for me to get on the soap box

Regarding the reflectivity and safety issues with the current plates that they are only effective for 5 years, I have to raise the and Brad can back me up on this. If the current plates loose the refelctivity, then why is it that the reflective stripping that is on any fire truck or ambulance in made with the same refelctive material and it is NFPA approved and there is NO lifespan issues with it.

It is just some political BS to get more $$$$ out of us and disguise it as a safety issue.

Somehow I missed the update on this. You're right Neil. I heard it was officially dead, but we'll see.

I see that the Gov has dropped the new plates for now.... and admitted that the "reflectivity" issue was a ploy to get more money for the state.

One things for sure, they have no problem raising tolls. They truly are going to put everyone in the poor house with this BS! The most tolled roads in the country.
