62 F250 Options
I'm looking for some detailed information on this particular truck I have.
I have a 62 F250 with a slide-out rear bumper and "camper hooks" on the sides of the bed:
It has seat belts, two speed blower, two speed wipers and a nice instrument cluster:
Power brakes and this is not the factory air cleaner is it?
I guess I'd just like to know if this is a "run of the mill" F250 or if it's some sort of "special order" and worth spending some $$ on to make it nice.
It's going to me my "old work truck" or my "nice weekend cruiser" depending on what I find out.
Thanks again for the help,
~Jason

90 percent of all F250 2 wheel drives in 61 and 62 were Unis. They are rare today as they were worked to death and junked as the major failures and body twisting they were subjected to as a work truck hauling heavy loads. It is the main reason they lasted only 3 years and are ford greatest failure.

Someone added power brakes and two speed wipers?
I guess if I pull the cluster or look behind it I'll see some way it's been modified? Maybe I can get my camera up there and have you all take a look!
I was really hoping this truck was original. Oh well...it's still my old truck and I love it!
It's stupid cold out there, but now that I'm home with the truck, I'll get out there and mess around a bit. I'll post more pics if you all are interested.

These bumpers were refered to as contoured, because the area where the license plate attached, was dished inwards.
The tie down (camper) hooks are aftermarket. Ford didn't offer tie down hooks until 1973, and these were T shaped and chrome.
The two speed heater blower motor is correct. Heaters were optional thru 1966.
The two speed wipers are a factory installed option, as these trucks came with one speed wipers as standard equipment.
The seat belts are aftermarkets sold by autoparts stores. Seat belts were an option, and on trucks of this vintage, the genuine Ford seat belts were the "aircraft type" metal to webbing.
Power brakes were available as a dealer installed accessory. From the pic you posted, it's the correct setup offered for 1961/64 F100/250 2WD's.
The oil bath air cleaner is correct. This was the only type of air cleaner offered on 1961/66's.
The same oil bath aircleaner fits all 1961/64 292's, 1965/66 352's. It's prolly been replaced, because 1961/65's were painted black, 1966's were painted blue.
From 1967 thru 1979, oil baths were an option.
The backup light shown in the pic is not original. Ford didn't offer backup lights on trucks (even as a dealer installed accessory) until 1967.
This backup light looks similar to the type used on 1961/63 Dodge Lancers & Plymouth Valiants.
Armrests were optional on Standard Cabs (which this truck is), standard equipment on Custom Cabs.
Horn Rings were standard on Custom Cabs, optional on Standard Cabs. Horn buttons were standard equipment on Standard Cabs.
Someone has installed an inline fuel filter. As original, the fuel filter is a cartridge type, it fits inside a can that threads onto the fuel pump.
If the fuel pump is an original type, the cartridge fuel filter may still be present, and if so, is prolly clogged up.
Since most ppl today are unaware that there's a fuel filter inside the pump, it rarely gets changed.
As previously mentioned, the instrument cluster is from a 1965/66 F100/250 2WD Custom Cab or Ranger.
99F150: The OP posted a pic of the Warranty Plate in a separate thread. The VIN and everything else has been decoded.

Since you didn't post a pic of the front end initially, I assumed it was a Standard Cab.
Chrome front bumpers were optional on all 1961/66 Custom and Standard Cabs. The standard equipment steel bumper was painted white...as original.
There is no BODY code used on 1962 F Series Truck Warranty Plates. The BODY code is the only official way to ID a Custom from a Standard Cab (or a 1965/66 Ranger).
The instrument cluster is not original to this truck, as it was only installed in 1965/66 F100/250 2WD Custom Cabs.
1961/64 Custom Cabs came with a chromed steel instrument cluster bezel with a round speedometer.
The 1965/66 F100/250 2WD Custom Cab's instrument cluster bezel is chromed plastic, uses the 'sweep' speedometer.
When you remove the cluster bezel, look on the backside of it. It will have a Ford ID engineering number of C5TF-10841-A. C5TF = 1965 truck ID number.
The actual Ford part number doesn't appear on parts. This bezel's Ford part number is: C5TZ-10838-A.
