Kind of off topic, but

My dad had me order assist air bags for this stupid duty cause its squats like a babybackbitch whenever we put some weight in it, but he wants an in cab controller and on board compressor for it. Do you guys know of what kind of options I would have?

I was thinking of piecing together some parts to make it. Say a small arb type 12v air pump, small tank mounted in the frame rails so we can run some air tools out of it maybe, pressure gauge in the cab run to the bags and one for the tank, and the one that I'm not sure about - some type of dump valve to let air out of the bags when he wants.

I thought that air bags were more of a set it and forget it type deal, but he seems to want to be able to control them - do they make that big of a difference in ride quality when there isn't weight in the rig? Maybe I can talk him into a 4 link with bags as the main spring

How can you be off-topic in THIS thread?

Generally air bags are a set it and forget it deal like you said, but i've seen people with controls for them more than once. I don't know about the ride quality though. I wouldn't think it would hurt it any, and hey, you would have air to run some tools. So do it. :P

If you have em filled up then it will stiffen the ride...
I like the idea of adjusting on the fly...
Throw something in the bed and take off air up your bags, take out the load and lets the bags deflate...

That is the idea though. Air the bags up to give it a stiff ride, hence putting them in because of the sag.

Um....
What are you talking about?

He is saying there is sag underload...
When not underload the bags if inflated will stiffen the ride, not sure that is something Paul cares about. But could be handy to be able to inflate and deflate at the push of a button...

Thats what i'm trying to say lol.

And Tbenks, my front spring had just two. The main leaf and then a support leaf. Right now I have another leaf added in there aswell, pulled it off the rear pack of an F-250. I like it a lot more with the extra leaf.

As far as I know, the TTB leaf springs are thicker/stiffer because of the way they have to twist with the TTB. So you don't want to swap F350 springs onto a TTB truck, I don't think.

But yeah, Dad wants the adjustability because of unloaded ride I think - and he doesn't want to have to air them up back at the garage whenever he puts a load on the truck. He just wants to be able to control it and not have to plan ahead when he's loadin the truck down.
