tranny problems.
I have a problem. I recently did a flexplate/starter on my 84 f150. this truck is a I-6, c6 (i think) 4x4. it will not shift out of first gear now.
When i was putting it all back together, the torque converter didnt seat all the way, and i couldnt figure out why the bellhousing wasnt coming closer to the motor. i tried to run it in with the bolts. Could i have broken/bent something inside the trans (front pump?) to cause it to not shift?
Also, I've been told there are vacuum lines going to the trans that have something to do with shifting. where do these vacuum lines connect and would this cause my problem?
any help is appreciated.
