I moved it forward 2" from where Ford had the center of the axle, so it would "look better centered in the fender
Your highboy frame ended up just the same way, making the fender look perfect. Never thought of using big truck fenders, that's a great idea!
I spent hours with a tape measure making sure I got it right, and I think I did OK!
I've got some paying jobs to do the next three days so can't work on it till this weekend, but we'll take the front cab mounts and running board brackets off and install them on the new frame. Next will be installing the 460 and C-6. Looks like I'm going to have to make some mods to the firewall also.
When I finally get done with all the projects that are ahead of the truck I'll need to build one. Maybe two.. There's a local scrap place that sells some pretty good materials for making stuff like that. Once you have one..
