5.0 or 6.2 production info?

I can't vouch for the accuracy of this chart (the height of the mod motors looks way wrong but I think the width may be correct), but check it out...the mod motors are HUGE--I've seen them in street rods, and they are bigger than an old 426 street hemi...

The stroke is a bit longer in the 5.4 (4.165''?) than it is in the 460 (3.85''?), which probably makes the deck taller too.

Truck trend reported last issue that the 5.0L for the F-150 would have HP in the 365ish range. That would more than meet my needs.
The real success story IMHO is if the 6.2L can actually pull off the same MPG as the 5.4L in the SD. That makes the SD a viable candidate once again.

I'm holding out until I know for sure what engines will be available in what trucks. The 6.2L would make a SD a viable choice again. But if the 6.2 were available in the XLT F150 that would also be viable for me. The 5.0 may work out in an F150 if the power band is low enough and it has a fat torque curve with most in by 1700 rpm. But I want the engine choices available across the board. I don't want a Lariat, Platinum, or Harley package. I want an XLT model. That's loaded up enough for me. If Ford doesn't make the engines available in all trim levels, I'll probably just hang on to the 06 for 6 or 8 more years.

I tend to agree except replace XLT with FX4 for me.
