Ford Lightning Engine swap into a '59 F100
Hi, I posted this in the old school forum section too. But i think some people here might get a kick outta it.
I'm in the process of putting a 1999 Ford Lightning engine/trans into a 1959 F100. Project is coming along pretty good. Pics and details are here.

I think i'm just going to run a walboro 255 external fuel pump, install an after market fuel pressure regulator and then run a new return line to the tank. We are going to use the stock harness, after market harness's are hard to find and too expensive for my blood, also i already have the stock one, i just might put it on a diet to get rid of all the extra crap i don't need.

I had originally planned to use the stock pumps/sending unit but they would not work in my fabbed tank like I wanted the unit would not fit in my 7 inch deep tank so Im going external pump as well.
I had looked at the detail zones harness and it appears to be a good system but also decided to go with the stock engine management harness and a aftermarket EZ wire chasis harness. Hope to have mine running by the first of the year. I assume you will chip the computer to get around PATS, rear O2 sensors and other unneeded items. Good luck and keep us posted.

Not an expert but you will have to get a tuner to burn you a special chip to eliminate PATS and also the other unneed EGR items. Cost me about 250.00 and thats just the basic startup chip not fine tuned. I also suggest going with the only two O2 sensors. You should not need the ones that were after the CATS unless you plan on running Cat converters. I changed my plans on the external pump based on noise, location and possible pump starvation issues and I have cut down the stock pump unit to fit my tank. Also saved me about $500. Ill get some more pictures up soon be busy lately with Christmas approaching.

thanks for the info. I heard SCT chip can make fix those issues and there is a dealer close by. Also we already have the tuner for my dad's 08 stang cause it has an SCT chip in it. We are going to probably put either a tank for a fuell cell under the truck. If the external pump is used we might have to use a collector to prevent starvation. I guess we will cross that road when we get there. Im sure ill be on here asking questions soon enough.
