HID conversion kits
Just found this place and I have to say incredible amount of good information. I have a 2007 Exp EB. I was looking into upgrading the lighting with an HID plug and play kit like this:

Has anyone tried these kits yet? I was looking into just upgrading bulbs or even the sylvania silverstar bulbs, but worry about the higher wattage and damage to the terminals:
Hella H13 Replacement Bulbs
What type of problems if any with bulb upgrades has anyone run into, and do they really make a difference over stock bulbs?

There are many compaines out there that have direct fit HID kits some as inexpensive as $98.00. And there are ones for over $300... There are no differance from the two except the pricing. I have 4 sets of HID 's on My Expy. Low Beam /High Beam and both sets of Lower fog lights all at 10k... And let me tell you on a Dark road with all of them on... Looks like a 747 landing...lol Now as for replacement bulbs if you stay with the same wattage you will be fine some bulbs are higher wattage and your stock wiring can over heat. Plus side its cheaper than HID kits down side you can Ruin your wiring.

OK, I went and bought the HID light kit(s) and I must say the service from the seller was more than great. Ordered them Wednsday and recieved them Thursday afternoon. Now, in order to save time, looking at the kit, I see it has a bracket for the ballast, are there pre drilled holes to bolt this to, or am I on my own in that regard?
Might there be a link to a Ford manual that shows the headlight set up for the 08 Expedition?

HID Lights
I was able to install 1 of the fog lamps this afternoon, loads of fun.......the "bracket" for the igniter was the hard part. I used a self tapping screw to afix it to the cross member that runs under the radiator. That required an angle drill and a trip to the hardware store for a set of "colbalt" bits. (any excuse to buy tools). So, one screw at the bottom and sticky tape in the center. The igniter has to be in the bracket when installed, as there is not room to install it later. One light is functioning and the other will take about a forth of the time in the morning.

10k for the color has pretty much the worst output available. the lower the temp, the higher the output. 4300-5000 is the best for output. the reason for the 747 thing is because of the quantity of lights and the horrible glare. the truely best way is to do a set of custom fabbed hid projectors into your factory headlights.
