351 in a '52, what stock exhaust works ?

I am sure this has been answered before so you can yell at me. My '52 made too many trips on the rollback and I had to jerk the stickin c***y 327 out. I am trying to put a '79 351 one in now. Has anyone done it using stock Ford exhaust manifolds? My budget, or lack of, means using real cheap parts. Sure would appreciate any help. Thanks

I have a 351W in mine. I am currently running aftermarket exhaust manifolds, but am planning on changing over to exhaust manafolds from a 75 Ford Mustang. The 74 to 78 Ford Mustangs had 302's installed. everthing in that engine bay had to hug the engine tight. I have mocked them up and they will clear the gear box barely. You will need to have the pipes made or go to an exhaust place that can provide you with 74 to 78 Ford Mustangs pipes.

It also may depend on the 351 location, closer to the rear (firewall) or front (radiator). Make sure they radiator is positioned in the stock six cylinder position. You said you originally had something called a "stickin c***y". Don't know how it was installed. It will create a little more room if the radiator is in the forward position.

I'm using 65-68 Mustang exhaust manifolds on the 302 in my 49 F-1. They are plentiful and inexpensive. Check Ebay. I believe they also fit 351 engines.

Is the 351 a 351W like a 302 or is it a 351M as in 351M/400? I think a 351 from 1979 could be either depending on the donor vehicle.

Here is the 302 exhaust manifold on my 351W

There is just enough room for the exhaust pipe.
