Clutch Fan/Heater

Hey when i drive my truck i have to hit about 50-55 for about 30 seconds before my clutch fan disengages even if i let the truck sit and warm up for 20 minutes also my heat isnt good until i get about 5 minutes on the road even if i warm up for 20 minutes could that be caused by the clutch fan?

You will get as many answers as you get replies...

But to answer your question, no, if everything is working like it should the clutch fan will not affect warm up time.. it might make it take 5 seconds longer... The fan is not doing any actual cooling of the engine until the water is circulating in the radiator, it might make a big difference on an air cooled engine.....

Sitting idling for 20 minutes will NOT properly warm up an engine if the thermostat is not functioning properly..

Sitting idling for 20 minutes probably equals 4 or 5 minutes of actual work like actually moving the truck, if that much..

My heat don't start for about 5 minutes on the road or 7k. This is at 80kph. Whether it's in our 2008 F-150, 1995 F-150 or either 1993 or 1991 Ranger. When starting them for the first time for the day in the city and driving in traffic during the daily commute they all take probably one minute less. I'f your fan was engaged when the truck is fist started it would cool the coolant due to convection, but the amount would be rather negligible, since little of the hot coolant will be passing through the rad. It's would not cool the fluid in the rad any as it is hard to cool anything much beyond room temperature with a fan. I hope anything in that rant might help.
