1986 ford f-150 spindle replacement
Is not a 4 wheeel drive a wheel bearing went out and it dosn't appear there are enough threads left on the spindle to simply replace the wheelbearing, I need to replace the entire spindle and, though I am pretty smart about some stuff I am a total idiot on the spindle thing , can you get them at a parts store? Do I need to use a junk yard? and any advice on how to replace it would be helpful also , thanks , I have never had to do this before its the one on the front passenger side

You need to go to the junkyard. You need to support the bottom of the axle, take the cotter pins and large nuts off where the spindle pivots(the spindle pivots on balljoints) and go to the store and buy a pickle fork. It looks like a fork with two prongs. Stick the pickle fork inbetween the spindle and the axle, and hammer the fork to bust the balljoint off the axle. You may have to beat on both of them for awhile to bust it loose.

I agree with Franklin. The cheapest find for a replacement spindle is your local bone yard. Take a good look at what you currently have or even remove your part and take it along with you for comparison shopping. That would also give you an idea as to what types of tools you will need to bring along to remove a replacement from the donor truck.
You may also want to consider replacing the ball joints on your replacement spindle since you already have the part off the truck.
Good Luck! HARFEND
