Oil leak on back of engine block

I have a 2002 F-250 7.3L Diesel and am having a problem getting the oil plug on the back of the engine block to seal (it's near the top of the engine bay. I have replaced the o-ring several times and it will stop for a little while, then continue to start dripping slowly again. Also, on a smaller note, my overhead console with compass and themometer does not light up. About 5 months ago it lit up for a couple hours then just went "blank" again. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Not sure on the oil leak, but this link will show you how to fix your console:

Can you describe the plug location in more detail? Head down to the 7.3 forum.
