Interchangable parts?

I found a 1978 F-350 2WD for sale kinda locally. supposed to only have 58XXX miles on it. has the 460 in it which I want. From the one pic I have seen the body looks in decently good condition. I currently have a 1977 F-250 4WD with the 400. what all can I rob from the 78 that will fit the 77?

Any body parts. The motors will interchange with some exhaust and motor mount mods. The rearend from the 78 will bolt into your truck but will be to narrow if its a dually.

Take a centerpin to centerpin measurement but all the f350 ive seen have the narrow rear frame like the truck you have.

Because the F-350 2wd has a 140" wb and 34" frame the bed will be different as well. To use the cab you'd have to cut out the floor over the trans. 2wd automatic trucks have a lower trans tunnel. Manual trans and all 4x4 have the higher bolt-in piece which would have to be used in your swap (no big deal, just different).

How is the WB different? The only longer WB F-350s are the supercamper special IIRC.

All 73-79 regular cab 2wd F-350s had a 140" wb regardless of whether they were SCS, CS, Trailer Specials, etc. Some further information, Ford dropped the Super from the Super Camper Special after 1976.

Is your truck a '77 High Boy or a '77.5 Low Boy ? Big difference there.

yes-it,s is the same length but due to a longer wheel base the fender openings are further back, and there is a removeable panel on the passenger side where the spare tire is mounted
