Hi guys
I have a 351m with Auto,Air manual choke no cat and most emmisions detached. What is the basic vacuum lines I need! I require the HVASc to function.
still undecided what to do ! EGR is not hooked up now seems to run all right no pinging ! Whats the purpose of the fuel exhaust canister ? Can I get rid of it? Have on vacume tree on Rad hose with nothing hooked up is that ok?
The fuel exhaust canister send unburnt vapor back to the engine intake and droplets into the fuel tank.
The VCV on the T-stat is a heat actuated (by coolant temp) vacuum switch to control/divert vacuum to the vaccum advance on the distributor.
Thx, Do i need that fuel Canister connected for the fuel system to operate correctly? Also my dic is currently hooked into the other pv tree does that make a difference?
Just got this truck and dont need the emmisions up here in Canada . Vacume system is hooked different than the diagrams i have and most emmissions have been removed
No, it is not needed, all that is required to run/drive is vaccum to the distributer advance and to the brake booster. There are alot of varying opinions on the emmisions equipment and the link posted above by fmc400 shows that.
Your dist advance needs to be hooked to a timed vaccum source, you don't want advance at idle,
Great info I really dont understand the vacuum sytem that well with all this emmsions stuff!! If I remove the fuel canister do i need to cap the vent line from the tank!! Can I take vacuum from the carb for the Dist?
Still trying to track down a basic vacuum diagram that will show me the minimum hook up required to run the heater and air ( and of course the basics Brake booster and dist...)
Yes, that is the best place, one will have vaccum at idle, you want the one without vac at idle, I am having a brain fart at the moment and I can't remember the positioning of the ports
