swapping a '57 front I-beam into a '55 F100

Hey Guys! I'm swapping out my '55 front axle for a '57. Everything should bolt right up. I'm noticing that the steering linkage on the driver's side spindle is from the rear on the '55, and from the front on the '57. It appears that the link will hit the shock. Should I mix and match parts from both axles? I have bothe complete set-ups. Anyone have experience with this swap? Info and pictures would be fantastic!

When I swap the '55 spindles onto the '57 axle, can I use the '55 king pins and bushings? They have been redone and are in good shape still. Or will I have to re-bush them with the '57 axle?

The 57's springs are wider than the 55's. You'll have to drill new holes in the spring pads to get the u-bolts through.

I think I can handle that! Thanks for the info! It'll save me a surprise when I get there.
